What a year it has been! Our Kenley Ella turned one on Oct. 10, 2011. It's crazy to think that this time last year we were brand spankin' new parents, just welcoming our lil' lady home. At her 1-year well-baby appointment, Kenley weighed in at 22 pounds, 5.5 ounces, and measured 31 inches. She's in the 95th percentile for height and in the 75th for weight and head circumference. A healthy growing girl! Not to mention a babbling, on-the-go bundle of energy. :) This'll be our last monthly photo (in this fashion, anyway), simply because we can't get her to stay still long enough for us to snap a good photo! Notice the blurred foot? Yup, she most definitely has places to go and things to explore.
We kicked the 1-year celebration off with a big birthday bash, complete with a house full of family and friends--what a lucky lady Kenley is to have so many people that love her! She even got a Minnie Mouse cake. ;) My friend Keely Hanson helped guide me through the intimidating cake making process. She's a veteran! With two daughters, Keely has made a cake or two, or maybe a bajillion, in her lifetime. Thanks to her, Kenley was able to gobble down a piece of this pretty cake at her party.
My work sent me to a conference in San Diego in mid-October, so we arranged for Mark and Kenley to join me and ended up tacking on a few personal days to the trip so we could meet Mickey, Shamu and the animals at the San Diego Zoo. It was a busy week, but we had a great trip and made some fun memories!
